There Are Too Many Unprofessional Small Operators in the Scuba Diving Industry

The news that PADI are starting a program called the “Business Academy” to help dive centers presumably to make more money whilst providing better service.

Given that the business strategies developed by the boys at PADI will go disregarded by a majority of operators declaring “ah but that is not how it works in the real world” after attending the forums and meetings that these ideas are presented by the PADI staff, one should ask why many dive operators bother starting in the first place.

Well here is the thing. We all love diving or we wouldn’t be here. But not everyone should have a dive business.
